Adding, Editing and Formatting Text

To add or edit text, follow these steps:

  1. Hover your mouse over the Publish icon () of the content box you want to work with. Your editing choices will appear.
  2. Click the Edit icon (). The Edit Article window will appear.
  3. Type the name of your article in the Article Title field.
  4. Edit the date of the article, if necessary.
  5. Click the Show Date box if you'd like the date to appear with the content.
  6. Enter and format your text in the Article Text box.
  7. Click [Save and Close].

Formatting Toolbar

The Edit Article window features an easy-to-use formatting toolbar that is very similar to what you would find in any standard word processing software.




We’ll assume you’re already familiar with basic word processing functions and only look at the functions you might not be familiar with:


Paste as Plain Text:  Click this if you want to paste plain text from a program such as Windows Notepad.

Paste from Word:  Click this if you want to paste text from Microsoft Word.

Insert/Edit Link:  Click this to hyperlink any highlighted text to another page, document or URL.

Unlink:  Click this to unlink any highlighted, hyperlinked text.

  Get Image from Media Centre:  Click this to insert an image into your content. You must first upload the image to the Media Centre before you can insert it.

Insert/Edit Embedded Media:  Click this to insert video or audio into your content. You must first upload the file to the Media Centre before you can insert it.

Edit HTML Source:  Allows you to view and edit your content's HTML source code.
